Crêpe day in France!!

I missed Crêpe Day in France (La Chandeleure)!! Crêpe Day is celebrated on the same day as February 2nd! In France it is custom to prepare Crêpes for “La chandeleur”, which symbolizes wealth, good crops and health for the year to come. Some people in France also celebrate this day on Mardi Gras (Fat Tuesday) by eating crêpes.
Other countries in Europe also celebrate this day. In England, it is called Pancake Day.

I will be SURE to eat some crepes while I am here!! France is famous for there crêpes, which are a very thin pancake. They don't eat them with syrup, though. They fill them with different things like jam, chocolate spread, ice cream, and other sweet fillings. Then, they fold the crepe into a square or roll it up and eat it with a fork and knife. They also have crêpes sale', (salty crepes), which aren't salty! Instead of having a sweet filling, they have fillings like eggs, ham, salmon, cheese, tomatoes, mushrooms, and more. I can't wait to try them! YUMMM!!! I am getting hungry just thinking about it!
À plus tard. ( See you later.) ... FS
